Climate action

The world faces worrying economic, social, and environmental challenges. Governments and citizens must articulate strategies to create a new global model to do away with poverty, promoting universal prosperity and well-being, protecting the environment, and fighting climate change.

Objectives defined by P.PORTO:
– Accept, in its daily practice, the commitment to sustainable development in all its areas – environmental, social, and economic –, in a holistic approach;
– Further, in the academic community, and in the general public, sustainability literacy;
– Incorporate the sustainability component in all its work and offer all its students and employees training and spaces for debate, promoting active and responsible citizenship;
– Foster transdisciplinary education and research in sustainable development, in the environmental, social, and economic areas, making them available for society and the common good;
– Disperse, as widely as possible, all its initiatives and good practices related to the area of promoting sustainable development, both internally and externally;
– Promote and support collaborative networks in the area of sustainability with the aim of collaborating in research and/or educational projects;
– Create partnerships with other areas of society to plan and implement collaborative intervention strategies for sustainable development;
– Further the transfer of technology with potential impacts in sustainable development.
