At Boavista Guest House, we have always had a strong environmental commitment and have implemented sustainability measures from an early stage. In 2022, we successfully completed the Biosphere Sustainable Tourism Certification process.

Some of the actions we have implemented: waste separation, including organic waste; electronic sales tools to promote a paperless operation; collaboration with local suppliers who respect environmental responsibility; filtered water served in glass bottles; LED lighting with motion sensors in hallways; eco-friendly amenities made with natural ingredients, ensuring low energy consumption, minimal pollution, and biodegradable packaging; water heating using solar energy; incentives to promote sustainable food practices and prevent food waste; elimination of single-use plastics; collaboration with local organizations for reforestation projects; creation and maintenance of flower beds on our terrace with native plants and flowers, supporting biodiversity and providing a habitat for butterflies, ladybugs, bees, and other small but essential environmental species; installation of energy-efficient windows; environmental awareness training for our teams to encourage a greener mindset and operations; eco-friendly towel and linen change policy for guests.
