Founded in 1983, balleteatro is a center for the development of performing arts and moving image. In 1989, it established the first professional school of theater and dance in Portugal. Today, it holds Public Utility status and is a resident structure at Coliseu Porto Ageas.

Climate action

balleteatro is committed to environmental concerns. As a professional school, it aims to educate responsible citizens by equipping them with environmental awareness and skills. The measures implemented include:

• Recycling bins for waste separation
• Filtered water dispensers to reduce bottled water consumption
• Elimination of single-use plastics
• Replacement of printed show programs with QR codes
