Associação para o Museu dos Transportes e Comunicações
The Association for the Museum of Transport and Communications (AMTC) is an institution with a dual purpose, functioning both as a cultural museum space and a conference center that hosts national and international events of various types. With a privileged location on the banks of the Douro River, this building is one of Porto’s most iconic landmarks.
Climate action
AMTC is committed to using natural resources responsibly, ensuring a balance between economic and social development and environmental preservation. In this regard, several sustainability practices have been implemented in both the building and its operations, including:
- Efficient waste management
- Minimizing water waste through awareness signage
- Reducing energy consumption by equipping the space with LED lighting
- Minimizing material waste by prioritizing digital solutions
- Promoting green mobility
- Encouraging best practices both internally and externally
Testimony
AMTC is fully engaged and actively involved in various sustainability initiatives and will continue to work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the European Union.
For these reasons, we find it appropriate and justified to join the Porto Climate Pact.
